Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or hard margarine, softened

  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tbsp. dark corn syrup

  • 1/2 c. mild molasses

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp. baking soda

  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp. ground ginger

  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • Coating
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar

Directions

  • Turn the oven on to 375 F.
  • Mix the first 5 ingredients on low to medium speed until smooth.
  • Add the next 6 ingredients and stir until moistened.
  • Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and coat in granulated sugar.
  • Place 2 cm apart on a cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Let cool for 2 mins before removing them from the cookie sheet.

  • Be sure not to overcook!!
